Privacy & Terms
How we handle your information and the basics of working with Junk in the Box Valley.
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 4, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, request a quote, book a job, or contact us, and what we do with it.
1. Information We Collect and Why We Collect It
In accordance with California privacy laws, we collect specific categories of information for explicit business purposes:
- What you give us: Your name, phone number, email address (optional), city, ZIP code or job address, a description of what needs to go, the timing you need, and any photos you send. If you join our partner program, we also collect your company name, partner type, number of properties and cities.
- Collected automatically: Your device and browser type, the pages you view, how you reached our site, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. We collect this via cookies and similar tools to maintain website functionality, security, and performance tracking.
- Calls and texts: When you call or text us, we keep a record of the phone number, date, and the content of our messages. We use this information solely to follow up on your requested job.
2. How We Use and Share Your Information
- To answer your request, give you a quote, schedule your job and send confirmations, reminders and "on our way" updates.
- To follow up on a quote or job you asked about.
- To run, protect and improve our website, and to block spam and fraud.
- To understand how people find and use our website, using analytics tools.
- To send you marketing messages and offers if you opt in, and to meet legal, tax and record-keeping requirements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
3. Text Messages and Calls About Your Job (Transactional SMS)
Junk in the Box Valley sends text messages about your job only if you agree to them. You agree by ticking the text-message checkbox on our quote, partner or booking form, or by texting us first. These texts cover your quote, booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, "on our way" notices and partner booking updates. If you call us and we miss it, we may send one text in reply to that call. We may also call you about a request you made, and email you if you give us your email address.
Message frequency varies with your job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. You can also call 818-335-1252. Agreeing to texts is optional and is not a condition of buying anything from us. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text-messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Marketing and Promotional Communications (Opt-In Only)
If you opt in, we may send you promotional texts and emails, such as seasonal discounts, service updates, cleanout tips and newsletters. We send marketing only if you tick a separate checkbox on our website forms. Agreeing is optional and is not a condition of buying anything from us. Marketing is separate from the job messages in Section 3. Saying no to marketing does not stop the job messages you agreed to.
Marketing texts: message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
Marketing emails: click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any marketing email, or email [email protected]. Our marketing emails show our mailing address.
We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text-messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for that work. These include providers that host our website, manage our customer records and appointments, send texts and emails, take payments, and provide website analytics. Service providers may use your information only to provide services to us. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our customers, crew or business, or if the business is sold or transferred.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to understand how people use it, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Google may collect information about your visits over time. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. If that changes, we will update this policy first and add an opt-out link.
7. Photos You Send Us
We use photos to price and plan your job. Send only photos you have the right to share, and please avoid other people's faces, documents or personal details.
8. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, you have the right to request that we:
- Disclose the specific pieces and categories of personal information we hold about you and how it is used.
- Correct inaccurate or outdated personal information that we maintain.
- Delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions (such as maintaining tax, transactional, or legal records).
- Opt out of any future selling or sharing of your data (though we do neither).
We will never discriminate or treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, please call 818-335-1252 or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request to protect your data. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days. You may also authorize a designated agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9. How Long We Retain Your Information
We establish retention periods based on operational utility and legal obligations:
- We keep quote requests that don't become a job, and contact forms, for 90 days after you submit them. If you also opted in to marketing, we keep your contact details and your opt-in record as described below.
- We keep photos, call records and text records for as long as we keep the quote or job they belong to.
- We keep completed jobs, bookings and payment records for a minimum of 7 years to fully comply with state and federal tax codes, accounting rules, and standard legal record-keeping requirements.
- We keep partner program records while you are a partner, plus 1 year.
- We keep marketing contacts until you unsubscribe, and proof of your opt-in for 4 years.
- Cookies and analytics data stay for as long as your browser and our analytics settings allow, up to 14 months.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services and website are not designed for or targeted to anyone under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect operational or legal changes. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.

Terms of Service
Effective Date: November 4, 2026
By using this website or booking a hauling job with Junk in the Box Valley, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.
1. Quotes and Pricing
Estimates are free. Pricing is based on the size, type and weight of your load. A quote from photos or a phone call is an estimate based on what you described or showed us. If the job differs on the day, such as more items, heavier material or harder access, we will give you a new price before we load anything, and you decide whether to go ahead.
2. Booking and Scheduling
We offer arrival windows, not exact times. Each window is 2 hours. Same-day hauling may be available, depending on our schedule. We will text you when the crew is on the way. If we are running late or need to reschedule, we will contact you.
3. Cancellations and Modifications
Please tell us as early as you can if you need to cancel or move a booking, by calling 818-335-1252. We ask for at least 2 hours' notice before your scheduled time.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due when the job is complete, unless we agree on another arrangement before the job.
5. Prohibited Items (Items We Cannot Take)
For safety, legal, and environmental reasons, we cannot haul hazardous waste. This includes, but is not limited to: paint, industrial chemicals, motor oil, solvents, automotive tires, asbestos, medical waste, ammunition, propane tanks (whether empty or full), or any other toxic materials.
6. Customer Responsibilities
- Give us accurate details about the items and the site.
- Make sure you own the items or are allowed to have them removed.
- Give the crew safe access, parking and, if needed, gate or building access.
- Set aside anything you want to keep. Once we load an item, it becomes ours and can't be returned.
7. Media, Photos, and Reviews
Photos you send are used to price and plan your job. With your permission, we may use before-and-after photos of finished jobs and your review on our site and social media. Reviews shown are customers' own words.
8. Text Messages and Marketing
If you agree to receive texts from Junk in the Box Valley, the text-message terms in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy apply. If you opt in to marketing texts or emails, you agree to receive them until you opt out, as described in Section 4 of the policy. Agreeing to texts or marketing is optional and is not a condition of buying anything.
9. Partner Program
Partners get a booking link, priority scheduling based on availability, before-and-after photos and recurring pickups. Partner jobs are quoted based on the size and type of the load. We confirm the price with you, and then you set the schedule. We may change or end the program at any time. Jobs booked through a partner link are still subject to these terms.
10. Intellectual Property
All text, original photography, branding, logos, and website layouts displayed on this site are the exclusive property of Junk in the Box Valley or are utilized with lawful permission. Copying, scraping, or reproducing these materials without express written authorization is prohibited.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
This website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by California law, our total liability for any service claim or job-related dispute is strictly limited to the total amount paid by you for that specific job. Junk in the Box Valley is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits or waives any unalterable statutory rights you hold as a consumer under California law.
12. Updates and Contact
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. For questions or adjustments regarding a booking, contact us at 818-335-1252 or email [email protected].
